Taking care of mama’s needs.

It’s been a whirlwind over the last few weeks. One day, while at job #3 (you know…so I don’t get bored) I started having some pretty weird symptoms. I nearly fell over. I had a momentary black out and had to grab hold of some shelving, and stared deeply into the eyes of a blue eyed baby. She smelled of vanilla, and had an eerie frozen gaze…..

Sorry- I got sidetracked , anyway long story short- they thought it was a heart attack. …say what now? A heart attack at 35? Anyway- got checked out. Ran a bunch of tests. Saw a bunch of specialists. Seems to be related to my panic disorder- panic attacks can mimic heart attacks, and aren’t always cause by stressful situations. Sometimes, just having stress in your life- can trigger a panic attack like this, even if you think you’re calm and relaxing.

Today I got the Holter monitor set up. I get to wear this bad boy for 72hrs. The tech told me I get to have “barmaid showers” from now until then- I had never heard this term before but I can only imagine she means the wipe down you give yourself when you accidentally have a one night stand – and now have to go to work. You know the ones?

So the moral of this story- always take care of yourself. When your body sends signals that something isn’t right, get it checked out. Don’t ignore symptoms and assume they’ll go away. Sometimes it turns out to be nothing, but it could turn out to be something. And it’s better to be safe, than sorry.
