I’m Emily. A 35yr old mum of 4. I grew up in the country, surrounded by animals and mud and trees. Scraped knees and playing hide and seek in corn fields. I’m raising my 4 brilliant creatures, in the concrete jungle. As a person with combined type adhd, anxiety and sensory processing disorder myself- (undiagnosed until adulthood) I know the benefits of the trees, the fresh air, and bare feet in wet mud. The adventures I involve my kids in, mimic those I set for myself those decades before. I’m a natural born artist, and ended up getting a degree in it, too. You are going to see projects posted here, you’re going to see sensory-friendly activities and ideas, you’re going to hear about innovative methods to implement in your home, your classroom, your clinical setting, your life.
I swear, I’m sarcastic, I drink on occasion. I’m loud, and expressive. I love deeply and give freely. I make mistakes, and I try again. I don’t have all the answers, I don’t always keep it together, and some times- I am one serious hot mess. But I know the ins and outs, I dedicate my life to helping other people, and all the critters on this earth. I have a soft spot for the misfits and discarded- and that goes for animals, thrift store finds, vegetables and found objects. I’m weird, and I think that’s pretty awesome.
